Tanzania have qualified automatically as co-host of AFCON 2027 alongside Kenya and Uganda. That removes one fear, qualification, and creates another one that is much bigger. Now the squad has to perform at a tournament its country is paying to host, in front of a national television audience that has never had this kind of football moment to watch live before.

Host status changes everything. It changes the budget the federation puts into preparation. It changes the friendly calendar. It changes the venues the team trains at. The Dodoma venue is the question mark. CAF inspections in the next 12 months will decide whether Tanzania host the number of games the bid committed to. That is the federation problem, not the team problem, but it shapes the home-stadium betting markets for the tournament itself.
